2016 Point Wealth Year in ReviewFebruary 24, 2017
They always say that time flies when you’re having fun, and we couldn’t agree more. 2016 was a big year for many people, and it certainly was for us. So much has changed that we wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything that happened in 2016.
It was one year ago that we decided to take the huge leap and create our own independent firm. Both of us enjoyed working in finance and wanted to help people, but we were both disheartened by what we saw big firms and traditional advisors doing.
Too many were biased and would misguide their clients, taking advantage of their relationship and position of power. We both wanted to serve as truly independent advisors, build a practice that aligned with our values, and provide people the best possible financial advice.
Navigating Year One
When we decided to set out on our own, our old boss told us we’d never make it. People were shocked that we were leaving comfortable positions and embarking on the very difficult task of building a business. It’s been one year and we’re proud to say it was the best decision we’ve ever made.
Simply put, we’re thriving and doing better than we thought possible. Despite it being the first year of running this firm, it was our best year ever in the business in terms of revenue and happiness.
For one, we’re working with clients on our terms. As independent advisors, we aren’t tied to proprietary products nor are we pressured to sell certain products. Instead, we get to work closely with clients who feel more like friends and provide them personalized guidance and one-on-one support.
Additionally, we’ve had the opportunity to integrate financial planning software and other tools that help us offer more comprehensive services and education to our clients. We’ve always been strong proponents of technology, as we believe it makes processes more efficient and helps simplify our services. By combining technology with our humanized approach and care for those we serve, we’ve been able to break away from the constraints of previous systems and do what is truly best for those we serve.
Where We Are Today
As a result of our focus, our firm is continuing to thrive and strengthen. We can say with confidence that we are here to stay, and that we’ve established a healthy and viable business model for long-term growth and stability. We’ve brought on many new clients this year, but we’re happy to say we are still able to take on more clients (and we hope to do so this year).
We are so proud to run a firm that strives to stand out from the standard wealth management companies. We believe clients choose to work with us because we are upfront and honest. We are committed to our clients and put their needs above all else.
Your Role in Our Success
Perhaps most important to our success is you. We wouldn’t be where we are today without your trust in us. We understand how hard you’ve worked for your money and we don’t take our responsibility as your advisor lightly.
We understand that it can be nerve-wracking working with a new firm, and we thank you for believing with us. Without you, we wouldn’t have achieved the success we have in this past year. We are excited as we enter year two of business and to continue flourishing. Thank you for choosing Point Wealth Management to guide you in your financial life.
Where We Go From Here
A key metric for building a strong financial business is bringing in new clients, rather than simply serving existing clients. The number of new clients we brought in for 2016 was a major contributor to success. Many of those new clients were brought to us by our existing clients who are happy with the positive impact we have had on their lives. That is the greatest compliment we can have. As always, if you simply introduce us to those you care most about, we will do our best to make a positive impact in their lives as well.
